Your Role

At Saab Muskö, we work with the Swedish Navy's vessels in repair, maintenance, and modifications. Here, you will become part of a close-knit team that constantly strives to ensure that the Navy's vessels are available and operational.

As a service engineer at Saab Muskö, your tasks will involve working with new installations and maintenance of engines on marine platforms. The work is varied as it involves vessels and submarines of different complexity and age.

Examples of Tasks

• Troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance of propulsion engines and gensets.
• Maintenance and repair work on diesel engines with outputs up to 2600kw
• Dismantling and reassembling engines
• Repairing and maintaining components and hydraulic systems around the engines
• Testing and running in engines in our test room
• Participating in test trips of respective vessel classes
• Administrative tasks such as work orders and service reports
• Continuous improvement work
• Business development
• Team building
• Knowledge sharing

The work is performed both on board vessels and in the workshop. You will have the opportunity to share your expertise as part of the work takes place at other Saab Kockums locations. There is a good opportunity to develop in the role with responsibilities such as team leader and participation in internal meetings for relevant projects.

Your Profile

To fit the role, we see that you have a solid interest in technology and enjoy a varied role where you can be creative and take initiative. We are looking for someone who is a problem solver with good collaboration skills and self-drive. Qualities valued in the role include being quality-conscious, responsible, structured, organized, and having a positive attitude.

We expect you to have the following to apply for the role:

• High school education in technology or engines
• Training as an engine technician, technical education, or equivalent experience acquired in other ways
• Several years of work experience where you have progressed in your development and wish to take the next step in your career
• Driver's license B
• Good computer skills and the ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Communicative as there is ongoing dialogue internally and externally

It is an advantage if you have experience from drivetrains for heavy vehicles and if you have worked with machining engine parts. Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and heavy lifting work is also an advantage.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
